Although many cable services offer great plans, some people still like to turn to online streaming platforms. Especially when you have family members of different ages and preferences. Same happened with me. I was fine with my Spectrum Triple Play but had to upgrade to a bundle deal for my teens. They are into gaming and stuff so getting a bundle was still affordable.
Many of my friends did the same because they wanted more viewing options, especially on the weekends. So if you are also one of those who prefer these online streaming sites, here are some options for you.
This name needs no introduction. This name needs no explanation as to what it is and how this online streaming platform does entertain the masses. However, there might be people who are not aware of all that Netflix offers. So, with Netflix, you get to choose from options of a single screen, double screen, and multiple screens.
The rent for the service depends on the selected option. You enter your debit/credit card details and the promised amount is debited from your account every month. Meanwhile, you enjoy watching a buffet of shows and movies in different languages on Netflix. There may be some restrictions of shows or movies depending on the area or country you reside in.
This is yet another alternative that allows you to watch shows and movies from not just your TV but your tablets and mobiles as well. You get to choose from a variety of options. There are a couple of packages that you can select from. The packages differ from each other not only based on price but the number of channels that they offer as well. You get to choose from the following:
Sling Orange package – offering 28 channels.
Sling Blue package – offering 44 channels.
Option to opt for both packages.
When it comes to similarity, Hulu is the most similar to Netflix. But, this service also offers you some cool features that you won’t otherwise find on Netflix. You can get to subscribe to the most basic package at an amount as low as $6. However, you will have bear with the commercials in this package. But if you are willing to spend a little more, you can subscribe to a package that comes commercial-free.
The best part about Hulu is that the most famous or prominent shows feature on Hulu the next day that they air on national TV.
Amazon Instant Video
If you invest in Amazon Prime, then Amazon Instant Video is free for you. However, you can also purchase it separately for $9. Some of the most popular categories that you can relish watching on Amazon Instant Video include:
Popular TV shows.
Kids TV and movies.
Amazon original shows.
The options are unlimited.
PlayStation Vue is a rather new streaming service but one that is on the list for the amazing content that it offers. You cannot only stream the content that Vue offers on PlayStation 3 and 4 alone. But you can also choose to watch it on your Apple as well as Android TV. Not only this but you can also watch it on your Amazon Fire TV.
Although PlayStation would cost you more than many other devices, the streaming service that it offers is still cheaper than many Cable TV packages. Which means that it is a good investment in the long run.
You can choose from the following packages:
- The Access Package.
- The Core Package.
- The Elite Package.
- The Ultra Package.
Perhaps the most affordable alternative is YouTube. You do not need to pay a subscription fee. The videos are available to you free of cost. Not only will you be able to watch movies on shows on YouTube but you will also get access to trending videos. These include vlogs and some famous original videos by people just like you and me.
You can also watch tutorials on YouTube. The options available to you are unlimited.
If you do not want to spend money at all on subscribing to any streaming service, you can simply choose to view content online. Many TV stations give the viewers the option to view their shows online. These include ABC and CBS. You can choose to watch the most recent episodes of prominent shows on such platforms. Problem=solved.
However, if you still feel the urge to have access to more, then I guess you will need to stick to the cable TV packages. You can always couple your Cable TV package with the Internet for a more valuable offer. For me, Spectrum works just well. Spectrum approved modems that come with the Internet plans along with the reasonably priced bundles are just what I need and more
